Today’s letter is brought to you by: Heels and a Hammer
This little DIY project is great for folks who like minimalist design or maybe have some space saving needs. These are called C-tables, they will store easily but also when in use take up very little space. While researching how to make the simple C-table I ended up creating my own take on the table, and here is the process from start to finish.
First I measured the couch that these tables would be used with and came up with my plans from there. Next, I purchased two, 1′ x 8′ x 1″ piece of Appearance Board from Homedepot. This size allows to only have to do the horizontal cut allowing for the end piece to be 1′ wide and in the long run less work and less sanding!
The only piece that I had to rip down the center was the pieces that serve as braces in the interior of the table, the spine if you will. I also used a 3/4″ square tube wood for added support at the joints.
Here they are built minus the stain.

After complete assembly I went back over each piece with sand paper to sand off any glue that may have seeped from the joints. Once they were re-sanded I took to the stain. Truth be told, after staining of course there were some spaces where the glue hadn’t completed sanded away. Then I just re-sanded and re-stained theses areas.
Here are the finished products in place! They are such simple problem solvers and very cost effective as well!
Ta da!
